Our Story
Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Misau was established by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on February 27, 2024 through an approval sent to the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, CON.
The hospital had its pioneer Medical Director appointed on August 5, 2024, in the person of Dr. Rufai Abdu Dachi, a Chief Consultant Haematologist. As a tertiary health facility, FMC Misau has the mandates of providing clinical services, training and research.
A Memorandum of Understanding detailing the ceding of the facility from General Hospital Misau to the Federal Government was signed on October 21, 2024, marking the official handover. The hospital commenced its full clinical activities on November 4, 2024, beginning a new chapter in healthcare excellence for the region.
